Mocking Jay Blog #1

Months before the first book of the Hunger Games series was going to be played in theatres, my mother who happens to be a librarian wouldn't stop talking about how great the series was. I am not really a huge reader but I do enjoy going to the movies. After seeing the first movie I was excited to see the second,  and after seeing the second with my girlfriend a couple weekends ago we were both really curious to see how the story would end since the second movie left us with so many questions. I wanted all of my questions answered and so I rented the book Mocking Jay, the third book in the Hunger Game series. Katniss has decided to become a leader for the rebels. She wants to kill Snow after all he has put her through. Unfortunately I quickly learned that Peeta was still missing. Katniss begins staring in rebel commercials, which lead to the Capital releasing video of Peeta being tortured. Punishing the rebels, the Capital bombs district 13, after the "smoke cleared," Katniss and other rebels went to retrieve Peeta. They successfully retrieve him but there is one problem, when he sees Katniss, he wants to kill her. It is later discovered that Peeta had been brainwashed. While in battle against the district Katniss is shot and wounded. She quickly recovers and trains to become part of an elite combat grout that will be comprised of other Hunger Game victors, including Peeta. Boggs the group leader is killed in battle and hands over the power of the group to Katniss. Katniss tells her crew about her plan to capture Snow. Unfortunately almost everyone in her unit is killed during her mission. Katniss is devastated when she learns of the death of her sister, Prim. Prim died along with  many other children as casualties of war. Katniss is again very badly injured while fighting, but at least they captured Snow. Katniss kills leader Coin with her bow and lets Snow die away. She is devastated and in what seems to be depression, she is confused and lost. After returning to her home district, her and Peeta have a romantic relationship, and eventually give birth to children. This is what I have read so far in the Novel and I am excited to read and blog more!
